CivicLabs is a Melbourne company building practical, trustworthy technology for councils and the communities they serve. SitePermit is our first product.

Why we exist

Planning should be clear for the people who apply and manageable for the people who assess. Today, both sides spend too much time working out what the rules say. We believe the planning scheme can do more of that work — transparently, with every answer traceable to its source, and with professional planners always in charge.

What we're doing now

Building SitePermit.

The applicant experience is designed and in prototype, and we're structuring all 83 Victorian planning schemes, covering all 79 councils, into our rules and knowledge model.

Validating with planners.

We're working with statutory and private planners to test SitePermit against real scenarios — and asking them one question: "What did we get wrong?"

Partnering with councils.

We're inviting a small number of Victorian councils to become foundation partners and shape the product with us.
