For many projects, yes. SitePermit helps you and your professionals work faster and with more confidence, but it doesn't replace professional advice where your project needs it.

Every result shows the clause it relied on so you can check it. Where a matter needs judgement or information we can't confirm, SitePermit tells you and refers you to council instead of guessing.

Your zone, overlays and applicable provisions; your likely pathway (exempt, VicSmart or full permit); a document checklist; and, for residential projects, measurable ResCode standards such as setbacks, height, site coverage, permeability, private open space, overshadowing and overlooking.

Discretionary matters such as neighbourhood character and heritage merit, objections, and property-specific information we may not hold, such as covenants, section 173 agreements or earlier permits.

No. Council remains the responsible authority. SitePermit provides guidance grounded in the planning scheme, shows the provisions it relied on and directs the enquirer to council when a matter requires officer judgement.

SitePermit is deterministic. It evaluates the provisions that apply to an address and a proposal rather than generating a plausible-sounding answer, cites every clause it used and abstains when the answer isn't clear-cut. That matters when the output is public-facing and attributable to your council.

Beyond "do I need a permit?", SitePermit checks the applicant's actual design against measurable standards, produces a clause-referenced self-assessment and gives your officers a review workspace to verify it — linking both sides of the process.

No. It's designed to work alongside your existing systems. Pilots start with an approved manual exchange; integrations are scoped later with your IT team.

Scheme amendments are part of the service. We track changes to your scheme, schedules and policies and update the rules model, with your planners confirming before changes go live.

We load your scheme and build the rules model. Your team's involvement is validation — reviewing results against scenarios you know the answers to, until you're confident. That's the step we won't skip.
